Harry & Jeanette Millner
In honor of these two extraordinary advocates for education, Destiny Temple, Inc. established this scholarship fund so that youth could have access to higher education. Their lives were dedicated to teaching others for several decades. Here is their educational story..

Millner's Educational History
Elder Harry Edward Millner was born on August 13, 1942; after serving drafted U.S. Army duties found himself at North Carolina A&T State University in 1967, where he received his B.S. Degree in History Education in 1969. As an undergraduate, Elder Millner made the honor roll each semester and graduated Magna Cum Laude from A&T. He was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an honor society in education, and a member of Sigma Rho Sigma, an honor society for Social Science majors. Elder Millner later received his M.S. Degree in School Administration in 1988, also from A&T. He did further study at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro towards a doctorate of education. Elder Millner taught in the Guilford County Public Schools at Jamestown Middle School for thirty years, teaching Social Studies & Language Arts for twenty-two years and was in charge of in school suspension for eight years. The students respected Mr. Millner and his rules. Additionally, he taught at A&T four years.
Missionary Jeanette Richardson-Millner was born on August 27, 1942 and received her secondary education at the Albert Harris School in Martinsville and graduated in 1960. She attended the Winston-Salem State University and graduated in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education. In 1979, she earned a Master of Science degree in educational media from the North Carolina A&T State University. Further, she studied library science at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Christian studies at Vintage Bible College. Mrs. Millner had a varied career in education: as an elementary and junior high school teacher in Martinsville, V.A., Reidsville, N.C., and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County public school districts; as a substitute teacher in many school districts; as a librarian at schools such Wake Forest University and W.L. Bonner College of Columbia, S.C.; and as an early childhood education professional at centers in Kimberley Park, Happy Hill Gardens and later, Christ Rescue Temple Church Daycare, all of Winston-Salem.

Harry and Jeanette were married on June 7, 1969 and were together for forty-six years before his death in 2015. Mrs. Millner departed this life on July 8. 2020. Their legacy continues through their son, Dr. Marlon Millner, their daughter, Margaret Millner, their grandchildren and extended family.
